NaNoWriMo Virgin

Hey ya’ll!

Nope – my title isn’t code or an encryption gone awry – it stands for National Novel Writing Month.

According to the NaNoWriMo website it is a “is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.”

Yep – you read that right – an entire first draft of a novel in one month. I’ve never done this before and I have no idea how it will go. I’m working on my current novel, “Southern Comfort” – the description of my book is under the “Meet My Imaginary Friends” page to the right.

I’ll be posting my progress here and I encourage you to cheer me on and give me a swift kick-in-the-pants when I deserve it.  The website is: http://www.nanowrimo.org/ and my username is robincovington.

Stay tuned – it should be an interesting ride.

  5. Hi Robin!

I saw you on the GIAM x5 site so I stopped in to see your site. Looks good. How did you do with NaNo? I like writing a BIAM. Fast writing shuts up my snotty internal editor, but I know it doesn’t work for everyone. Hope you enjoyed the process!
