Burning Book Love – Night Maneuvers by Jillian Burns

Now, you all know that I am a huge Harlequin Blaze fan. I read every one, every month and they always blow me away. And, I’m hoping to be a Blaze author someday – so I also study every word for just how they do it month after month.

I’m always a little behind reading all of them and I just finished “Night Maneuvers” by Jillian Burns and it was a really great read.  Now, Blaze is known for it’s sizzling hot sex scenes and this one had plenty – *fans self* – but the best part about this book was the best friends to lovers theme.

The story of the wounded, Casanova – Mitch McCabe – and the clueless-about-her-beauty – Alex Hughes – was just enchanting.  Mitch has been hurt badly in the love department and coupled with his shattered childhood makes him unwilling to fall in love again.  Alex has loved him for 12 years, suffering in silence as he moved from woman to woman and married one who did him totally wrong. When they finally realize that what they feel is more than friendship . . . well, it’s angsty, sexy, frustrating, and wonderful.

This book is now on my keeper shelf – check it out!

Subject: Mitchell McCabe, U.S. Air Force Captain (Call Sign: Casanova)

Current Status: Celibate – because he lost a bet

Mission: Survive thirty days without sex

Obstacle: Captain Alexandria Hughes, Who’s suddenly gone from hotshot pilot to just plain hot!

Alex has had it bad for gorgeous Mitch ever since their academy days, but he’s only ever seen her as a wingman, never a woman. It’s time she made him take another long, hard look.

After years as friends and comrades, Mitch is seeing Alex as the opposite of “one of the guys.” Has that smoking-hot body always been hiding under her flight suit? Is she just messing with him? Can he wait a month to discover that he’s been missing out on…or are some sizzling night maneuvers a sure bet?

You can buy the book at Amazon and eHarlequin.

Burn it up,

Robin

Gwen – she also has two other books with an Air Force setting and connected characters that are also good. They are” Seduce and Rescue” and ‘Let it Ride” If you want to read them in order, Let it Ride” is first, then “Seduce” and then Night Maneuvers.
