Burning Music Love: A Month of Love Songs – Matt Nathanson

Today’s song is from one of my all-time favorite artists – Matt Nathanson.

“Still” is such a sexy song. The lyrics paint a picture of long weekends in bed  . . . I need to write a scene for this . . .

  1. Anyone who knows me knows about my huge love for all things Matt…in fact, I wrote my first foodie novel based on an idea I got from his song “Come on Get Higher”! Believe it or not, he’s even sexier in person, too!

I think the thing about MN that made me connect to his music was that he seems to feel it the way I feel my stories– it’s totally evocative. This song is a perfect embodiment of that, for sure!

Amazing pick, Robin. And next time he comes to town, we’ll headline a WRW field trip 🙂

Oh . . . I knew we were kindred spirits!

MN is such an amazing songwriter – he weaves a story with his words that just pull you into his world.

We are definitely going to see him next time he’s in town. I had tickets to see him at the 9:30 club in October and ended up missing it because the hubby had a terrible case of strep throat and I didn’t want to leave him. He’ll be glad that I have someone else to drag to his shows!

      1. Robin, that’s the show I went to! We were in the front row, and got to meet him afterwards, and he. was. amazing! I totally second Taryn– he was gracious and funny and didn’t even make me feel ridiculous when I fan-girled him by asking him to sign my cast (I’d broken my hand earlier that week). He signed it, posed for pictures, and even hugged me and my friend goodbye.

We still giggle about it like little girls 🙂

  2. Oh, I just love this man. I’ve met him…right after the Buffalo, NY show last year. I’m headed to see him again in March. No man gets into a song more than Matt. I’ve never seen a performance where he’s ‘phoned it in’ like some musicians do.

AND he’s the most amazing man to meet. Makes fans feel special whether you’re the first in line or the 85th. Just wow.
